Tasty Vegan Frozen Banana Custard

One of my favorite easy healthy recipes is frozen banana custard! I say easy because it's only a handful of ingredients and it only takes about 5 minutes to whip up. It's so healthy that I love to eat it for breakfast or after dinner for a light but sweet dessert. Bananas are a naturally filling food because of their high-fiber and low-calorie count! It also makes it great snack for weight-management.

Here is my recipe for frozen banana custard. You can add more or less of the ingredients depending on flavor and consistency! ***Tip: BROWN bananas are the best because they are the sweetest and give a a smooth texture. Less ripe bananas will make your custard more like whipped banana baby food and less like smooth custard!

frozen bananas: 3 hours or overnight

Ingredients:

~ 3 frozen brown bananas. ***Tip: It helps to peel and cut the banana into pieces before freezing. If you have already frozen your bananas with the peel on, run them under hot water for a few seconds to soften the skin, and then slice gently with a knife and continue to peel.

~Approximately 1/4 cup of non-dairy milk (or more depending on desired consistency). I like coconut milk or almond milk but you can choose whatever you like :)

~Food Processor or (strong) Blender


㋡ That's basically it! Here are some popular add ons. You can either add these in the mix and blend it up or as a topping afterward:

-other fruits like blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, kiwi

-cocao nibs, coconut flakes, chia seeds, flax seeds, açaí powder, maca powder, hemp seed hearts (These are not only delicious but bring great sources of nutrition to your diet!)


Instructions:

~Using a food processor or a blender, blend up your bananas and non-dairy milk until your custard is smooth. Taste test with a spoon, close your eyes, say mmm, and then pour into a bowl and enjoy... :)

You can use it like an açaí bowl and add delicious toppings or enjoy it plain and smooth! ♡
